Sanguwah is a kind of amulets popular in Okinawa, usually made of Japanese pampas grass, and placed at four corners in a house. This Sanguwah is dyed in red for protection from evil spirits and engraved with the Minsah pattern which is common for a special Kimono belt as a gift from a lady to a man whom she loves. This pattern is made of blocks of five squares and 4 squares, conveying cherising message of 'caring and loving always and forever' as 5 can be translated into 'Itsu' = always and 4 into 'yo' = era.
